MEET BOBBY FRANK

Turning Shame Into Strength

For most of his life, Bobby carried a weight no one could see. Shame—a gnawing sense of never-enough-ness. It followed him in the quiet moments and kept him from fully showing up in the world. Like so many others, he thought he was the only one carrying that burden and had to face it alone—until he realized that openly acknowledging his unease in a supportive community was one of the keys to his freedom.

Bobby is the Founding Member of Shame Club, a community built on vulnerability and intrinsically sourced self-worth. He’s a speaker, mentor, and strategist helping others to confront their sense of unworthiness. Shame Club is not about avoiding shame—it’s about meeting it head-on, understanding it, and finally releasing its grip.

Bobby’s Journey

Bobby is a corporate attorney by training; a C-suite executive and social entrepreneur by experience; an intentional leader and organization builder by choice; and an empathetic nurturer by nature.

He was raised in a culture that venerated achievement and wealth, and he internalized those cultural norms hook-line-and-sinker. They were the unexamined and mostly unquestioned background music of his life. Until they weren’t.

Several years ago, during the Great Recession of 2008-2010, with a wife, two young children, and a successful business, it all came crashing down—at once. Bobby’s marriage ended, he lost his business and thus began a very dark period of financial and emotional turmoil. Darkest of all were the shame, isolation, and fear he endured.

With the support of a loving family and friends, and a deepened commitment to spiritual growth, Bobby did the hard, uncomfortable work: unpacking the layers of story upon which his identity was built—the stories he concocted and nurtured to feel good about himself. Being so blessed with good health, a loving family, and many advantages, why on Earth would he need to create stories to prop up his sense of self-worth?

Simple. Bobby came to see that his shame did not start with his epic Crash and Burn; in fact, it had been chronic—lurking unseen since childhood, brought on for a variety of seemingly logical reasons. But the essence of his shame was always the same: not being perfect all of the fucking time. It was constant, unrelenting, and overwhelming.

And so began Bobby’s long road of inner work, learning, and healing—which continues to this day. Bobby was humbled and enlarged. Success is no longer his raison d'êtreHappiness is. And he learned many life lessons along the way, among them that: failure is actually a better teacher than success; we are not alone in our shame struggles; and our past doesn’t have to be the prologue of our lives.

Over the years, Bobby has dedicated himself to understanding the nature of shame, its causes and effects, and experimenting with a host of healing modalities. Now, he shares what he’s learned with others, guiding them through the same process.

His message is simple but powerful: none of us are alone, and the antidote to shame is sharing our shame stories with others..

WHY SHAME CLUB?

Bobby created Shame Club as a space for people to be real, vulnerable, and free. Inspired by the structure of support groups like AA and Al-Anon, this community is a place where people can come together to face what they’ve been avoiding, without
judgment or pretense.

His approach blends deep inner work, personal storytelling, and transformative coaching to help people break through the barriers that keep them small. Whether through in-person or online meetings, one-on-one mentorship, or speaking engagements, Bobby’s mission is clear: to help people step out of shame and into self-acceptance.
